WHAT IS LABOUR SHORTAGE

If there is not enough labour force to fulfil the job market. A labour shortage can be identified by comparing the number of jobs available in the market and unemployment rate prevailing in the market.

    Labour shortage is a huge problem for tea estate owners and the tea industry is in a bad situation at the present. Tea is the one of main export beverage and Sri lankan tea is in a high demanding beverage in the world.I personally like this culture because of I grew up in these kind of environment and this discussion is effective to obtain solution for labour issue of this industry.

Either government or tea factory owners can't solve this problem stand alone. Both parties should work together and find solutions to give following remedies, Attractive daily wages To upgrade their livelihood Opportunity for quality education for their children High standard medical facilities Good infrastructure facilities

  More than 300,000 people are engaging with plantation industry. However they are still suffering from the following issues, Low wages Very poor housing facilities Malnutrition foods Poor education for their children Poor infrastructure facilities
